I can tell you that my '07 Puma doesn't have it. Is it aftermarket?

I think that might be the aerial for the remote central locking. Craig.

Well, if it is the aerial for the CL, it looks entirely different and is an entirely different location to mine!
What year is the vehicle and what version of 10AS is fitted? |

I am probably wrong but I thought the white wire looked like the wire that is extended in this link.
http://defender90xs.blogspot.com/2014/11/r...nsion.html Was hoping somebody more knowledgeable would clarify, thanks @blackwolf Craig. “Don't believe everything you read on the internet.” ― Abraham Lincoln www.scotgrc.co.uk |

I'm inclined to agree with you. You haven't answered my question about the year of the vehicle, but the one in your link is said to be a 2010 vehicle. I also seem to recall that others on this forum have referred to the aerial on vehicles later than mine running towards the centre of the dash, whereas on mine and other early vehicles it either just dangles from the 10AS or runs towards the RH windscreen pillar (and the preferred means of extending it on the early vehicles is to extend it up the RH windscreen pillar). Also on the early vehicles it is not white.
So on balance I think think you are right. |

I like the idea of the A - Pillar route might extend mine. Thanks for all the replies guys Shane |

Ah, I saw 1989 in your avatar but thought is couldn't be the vehicle since it is well pre-Puma!
Just remember that the greater the range on your remote, the greater the chance of accidentally unlocking your vehicle without realising it if you inadvertently squeeze the button in your pocket. Mind you, even with my antenna extended, I usually have to be within touching distance of the vehicle for the plip to work (or do the mysterious "press the plip against your head" trick, the one everyone says cannot make a difference but demonstrably does). |
