But is should have something that looks like a choke that stops the engine. Darren

To be honest, it's a totally bizare set up. How on earth did they ever think this was a good idea! I come to Land Rover from a (classic) Mini background and you can see elements of the Mini British Leyland dash layout in the bottom dash rail, where on the Mini they put all the buttons as a simple toggle switch. But Land Rover chose to ignore the really obvious place to put things and just throw a load of buttons around the speedo. I mean, WTF! Laughing

We have recently dusted ours down, with some nice longer nights.

Been on a few little outings with the little lad Smile

Interesting you mention brakes, I have had the series for around 5 years now, and yes drums all round take some getting used to jumping out of modern cars, but you don't tend to drive these the same anyway...

Anyway I've been collecting parts for a front and rear change, new pistons, new shoes, new drums all round as since I have owned it they have not been done.

All parts were branded and LOF bits from Paddocks, As it happened on the way to the garage I'm popping along at 40mph on a A road to take a left turn down a B road to the garage, I road I have travelled done many times....

Used my momentum to basically turn into the B road at 40 mph (its a gentle swopping bend) only to be confronted with temporary road works and a few cars queuing. the sight of a Fiesta rear boot becoming very close as I stomped on the brakes...

It stopped, little squeal, but in a straight line....

I checked on the garage doing the job and turns out 2 of the 4 cylinders were seized, so not sure which brake stopped me, but it did.

I'm collecting the car back today so will report back but all new springs, shoes, brake cylinders, hubs, fluid, pipes it has to be better Smile

Will report back Smile

Thumbs Up

PS I have also looked at the disc brake kit and some where have some details, pricey though.... however 'if' I did a EV conversion then I would do this.

I need a spare wheel. I'm guessing they're 5.5 x 16" but the Limestone Series 3 wheels are coming up as tube wheels, is that right? The tyres on the car at the moment are General Grabber AT3 225/75R16 which are tubeless so it must have a tube in a tubeless on a tube wheel. Is that the done thing, tubes in a tubeless?

Thanks. Thumbs Up

Regarding my above tyre question I was advised to fit the tyre and see what happens so that's what I did. OK, so far.

Today I've been sorting the dashboard, it's a bit grubby and needs sorting. Carefully labelling all the wires and wondering WTF is going on!
