The 2nd picture is the orientation on mine. They were not fitted, but it had the holes and rivnuts fitted to the outriggers though.
I thought they came as standard? If they don't then mine are fitted the way a previous owner decided. Your first picture might be better if you have issues with mud up the doors. Craig. “Don't believe everything you read on the internet.” ― Abraham Lincoln www.scotgrc.co.uk |

These are the factory holes on my 90 chassis - seems to be well clear of the bulkhead bolt?

I see, that's really helpful, thanks both. Maybe I need to drill extra holes in the brackets then. Seems weird, or maybe I'm missing the obvious. I'll go under and have another look when the ground isn't soaking.
Retroanaconda, are those Gwyn Lewis shields you have on without mud flaps? If so, what do you think of running them like that? I'm guessing you haven't found the need for flaps with the shields. |

No, they’re my own home-made version but the same principle. They keep the mud off the bulkhead and chassis outrigger. I’ve never found the need for mud flaps on any Land Rover. |

The standard position does overlap the pressed hole in the outrigger. There are usually a couple of spacers under the bracket to allow it to sit flush with the pressed hole. 2000 90 TD5,galv chassis, d2 axles ,Bas remap , alisport intercooler , d2 transfer box , side windows-more to come-much more!! *GONE*
