You can fit 2 standard size batteries in easily if you remove the jack and chock etc. I had to make my own tray, which meant learning to use a Mig welder I borrowed. I can’t believe no one has made one commercially. There is room behind the batteries for the VSR too. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

One tray I can think of is gmb-mount (https://shop.gmb-mount.de/DEFENDER/Elektrik/Doppelbatteriesys./). I think there are other makes, too.
I made my own from aluminium sheets and profiles. It's not too hard to do: https://www.kraxlr.de/makingof.html#electrics More pictures (poor quality, but you get the idea). Uses the original bolts from underneath, and the screw-in clamps from above to secure the batteries. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

The Flatdog tray might do it - I made my own for original battery and a Numax

Thanks you all for the replies and ideas - mecfrank your photos are really useful. Need to do a proper translation from German, but is the GMK says something about the 300tdi? Isn’t the puma box slightly different, but perhaps it’s just about making the floor flat.
I might give flatdog a shout and see what they think - I need a roof rack and high level internal shelf for the 90 and am almost decided on their kit for those. They seem to be pretty helpful. Will let you know how I get on with a solution. |
