Light bar wiring options
Just about to hang a lightbar from the front of my rack and likely run the wires under the door seal and into the cabin…..but my quick question is, what other ways and means have people used? Any obvious pitfalls?

I don’t have a snorkel so can’t run that way.

Any images greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I ran mine along the gutter to the back and then down the ladder. The wire enters the car through the number plate light plinth. And then to the relay in the battery box.

I have routed mine via the upper front corner of the passenger door, than down the A pillar behind the plastic trim, than under the dash, under the front mat to the battery box.

It helps to use flat wire.

Other route would have been to go down the windshield along the rubber seal than into the engine bay via the back corner of the hood. Than connected via a relay to the alternator.

I did the “unthinkable” about 5 years ago and made two holes in the roof….

Because they are fitted/sealed through marine deck glands they have given me zero issues at all. And to be fair to myself, because the car began life as an airport aux. vehicle there were already other random holes in the roof (just not in the right place!) which have given me zero issues for about 22 years… Donald
