I went the opposite way and during a chassis replacement fitted the later (Td5 onwards) plastic tank with the smaller neck. I had to cut a support plate to reduce the diameter of the tub opening to match the rubber neck support ring.
I guess in your case you just need to cut out the opening hole of the new tub to match the old tub? |

When I built my 110 (Td5) but with an earlier rear tub.
I used the older filler unit (so I could keep the jerrycan pull out tube...dead handy!) and made the pipework fit the Td5 tank. Can't remember what I did now though. |

There seems to be quite a few variations across the years - even on the same vehicle?. Rgds.

Thanks everyone I think going to open the hole up to take my current fitting as I think they work better than the plastic ones
