Disconnect the battery first - correct sequence in the handbook - then on reconnect, press the Lock? Button five times to resynch -
Loosen the terminals, turn the ignition on, turn the ignition off, disconnect the negative. There are a few companies who refurbish 10AS and remotes, but as mentioned you should try to resynch yourself first https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic66476.html 2009 Defender 90 CSW 2.4 TDCI. One point to note is you won’t be able to start the vehicle without it fitted. Well unless you have had the immobiliser mapped out of your Engine ECU.
Technozen specialise in Lucas 10AS repairs. https://www.technozen-electronics.co.uk/la...-services/ Out of interest what are the issues that lead you to believe the unit needs repair. |

Hi there, reason’s for thinking 10AS unit faulty were - central locking not working properly, cranking of the engine was for maybe 4seconds only then nothing. Alarm system armed itself and flattened the battery. I removed the as unit & sent to techozen . He tested it & said no fault but refurbished the key fob as it was broken. Supplied another new fob for spare also . Since fitting back on & pairing to vehicle it has been fine.

Pleased to hear you received a professional service and had the fault rectified at what I expect was a reasonable price.
The key fob works in conjunction with a receiver near the ignition switch which signals the 10AS , hence a broken fob was not recognised and the 10AS would not signal the engine ECU to allow it to start. In essence the 10AS was doing the job it was designed for |

The dreaded non start problem’s have come back again . Sometimes when cranking the door locks try to operate as if there’s a problem with immobiliser but I’m not sure. Another thing I’ve noticed is the clock on the dash is going backwards? Loosing faith in this thing now.

Clock going backwards can happen after changing main battery.
To fix you can try setting the time going forwards, else pull fuse , replace , and then try setting time. If it does not work first time it should after a couple of try’s. |

You Defender is not related to Stephen King's Plymouth Fury "Christine", is it? |
