Made a spare wheel lock

I've not been convinced by the security of the locking wheel nuts keeping thieving scumbags away so thought I'd try and make something.

Bear in mind its work in progress, but this is my MK1 spare wheel lock. I only used bolts because I can't weld, but on MK2 I will get some 15mm bar stubs welded in place of the bolts. I've also some ideas to replace the solid aluminium billet.

Anyway, round one and it works pretty well. I'm sure a determined scroat with an angle grinder might get through the Stoplock, but hopefully it'll be enough to persuade them to go elsewhere.

What made me wonder about the security, was that my local independent tyre fitters have locking wheel nut removal tools which he used to remove one with to show me how secure they are.

I remember the old days of D3 ownership with wheels being stolen and then Uncle Ray came up with his wheel protector.

Moo, I saw a very similar device to your idea on the PowerfulUK VLOG recently so they have a very similar device going into production.
Both look much more elegant than the motorcycle security chain I’ve been using when leaving the car in hotel and airport carparks! I noticed it too. I sent picks and info of mine to Simon after I made mine with some suggested improvements.

Of course I’m just now noticing that Powerful UK has the final version but out of stock. I still like yours and just need to source the column with the ring. Nice bit of engineering.
