as above we fitted an ultra one earlier this year to a mates td5 .its ok but lots of little things spoil it and for the money it should be better i think.pm if you want the list of things that needed fettling. but on the upside it did fit onto a richards chassis no issues.
as for sheilder.no one around us fits them..... we have a richards one due to go on a 200 tdi that may arrive before xmas but if not early jan and we will report back how that goes. |

Anyone fitted a Maer stainless bulkhead yet? I wonder if they are producing the Hobson bulkheads? They dont seem to list anything later than 300TDI spec and even these are temporarily unavailable?

I guess the other consideration would be.... do you actually need to replace the bulkhead?
It is rare (or maybe never) that they completely fail. And you can buy repair panels for the bits that do rust. Might be a heck of a lot less work if you retain the original. |

well a little feed back on the 200 tdu richards bulkhead. we got one of the 1st batch. were told to report back any findings so they can improve the next batch.
so the bad news its flipping ace. better than anything else on the market. drops straight on a new chassis. dash holes line up all the rivnuts are in place vent flap holes are drilled out unlike ultra ones square holes for the fixings where they need to be unlike other ones you have to drill and file out. now it did run late due to xmas and tooling issues but well worth the wait. all that was missing was 1 fuel pipe clip hole and they dont drill that one as it varies on tdi where it is. 2 little holes to hold the relays behind the dash needed drilling. i suspect they will add these to the next batch as they have cad drawings and positions to the mm for them. im not saying dont buy any other but wait until you see one of these up close. you can go over and watch them building them up which i did. i have a pile of pics of the lads building them and some of the e coat ones which are very good too. they have even split a few of the test ones to see how far the galv and e coat has covered which is nice. |

Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge well we're working our way thru the 90 as we speak. maybe start a new thread as you rebuild yours . i have to say i like that fact that richards will let you have an up close and personal look at what they make, and they welcome feedback. unlike the last one we bought. they new things were missing and couldn't care less . both doors went on without an issue. all the major components fitted spot on. 1 wing on today and it lines up lovely apologies for the wonky seam sealer lines. Click image to enlarge nice not to have to drill holes for grommets and the fact the holes are correct size saves time. extra wax before the wing goes back on. will happily buy another but poss an e coated one a few pics of the work pre galv or e coat they do. the brackets and stampings are a work of art. |

I am quite looking forward to seeing how the Juice Motors team get on with this Shielder bulkhead. I have one myself currently fitted on a Richards Chassis, but I haven't got far enough with it yet to get the doors on to see how they fit. I'm hoping the Juice team don't find too many surprises in part 2 and 3 with it (not yet released).
