Indeed. I’ve tracked my MPG for 250,000 miles and it’s a very useful measure to have.

Use fuel additive like millers, keep a clean air filter as much as possible and clean MAP and MAF sensors periodically if a Puma.
About all you can do.

Roof bars, racks or boxes all decrease MPG as does MTR tyres and aerodynamics as mentioned.
That’s why most of us all have most of the above to decrease MPG even more - that’s why we don’t complain too much Laughing $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

With my Global Roamerdrive I regularly get 8-10 Litres used per 100 KM. (Thats at least 30MPG). Thumbs Up

Also totally agree knowing your usual mileage is very useful. Helps to track down mechanical, electrical or ECU issues when they arise. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Attached is my consumption tracker for my standard 2000 TD5 90. Mostly a good mix of urban and motorway. The dips in the graph, or increases in consumption are where I towed our caravan.

27 to 29 MPG typical. 24 ish with the caravan.

I get anywhere between 26-30 mpg. For a 90 hardtop td5.
I tried really hard once to get it higher, but it made no difference.
I don’t tend to check very often now. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop
