You have to replace the actual lines - and don't feel too bad as this is a common issue with these pipes.

WJP500090 is the main green line to engine.
WJP107930 is the filter head to pump WJP107940 is the pump to filter. I'd do the whole lot if I was you. TD5 fuel pipes get very brittle with extremes of cold as they warm up quickly up to 70C. Obviously if the start temperature is -10 for periods like it has been over the last 2 or 3 years, this makes the pipes brittle and they snap rather than bend. Usually happens to earlier model TD5's as they got the plastic mix wrong, and also Discovery TD5 because they rub through over the top of the tank. |

just been quoted over £300 for the 2 fuel lines to replace the lines with the broken connectors on them. Haven spoken to a couple of people i have decided to cut out the broken fuel connectors and add some new fuel line in with a connector.
Does anyone know the internal/external diameter of the defender 110 td5 fuel line so i can buy the correct fuel line and connectors. Many thanks Colin |

The pressure in the pipes is around 4 Bar, so you may have problems doing the repair like this.

Thats handy to know, the super plan to save some money is still in its infancy, so im doing some research on this to see if it plausable, if i fit a connector it will have to be able to deal with 4 Bar, one of the guys on landyzone did it last year and says hes had no problems since. Problem is i dont know the exact internal/external diameter of the fuel line and dont fancy ordering 3 or 4 different size connectors. Colin |

Is the tank still out? You can measure the pipes up at the tank, but you need the quick release ends on most of them.
You could try and get some used 'recycled' pipes from a breaker. |

ended up replacing the lines and glad i did, everything went well, fuel tank back in and engine primed and started again no problem, just the 7 day timer for the eberspacher to fit and my project work on the landy will be finished, for now....

So you went for Eberspächer? Are they better than Webasto for Defenders? Thinking about Stand-Heating myself recently but the Eberspächer in my T4 VW Bus was always breaking down... Some info would be great

87 Still to fire it up for the first time, just the 7 day timer to fit then, start the unit up and bleed it, so i will let you know how it goes. I decided to go for a brand new unit rather than a 2nd hand heater, to make sure its working 100% Col |
