Pumas clutch replacement
Good morning
Could anyone tell me how long it would take a garage to replace a clutch on a 2012 defender with 70 k on clock
Regards
Matthew

A well-equipped garage with experience of the job working on a clean vehicle and nothing going wrong could do it in around three hours. If things are seized or break it could extend to a full day. It's unlikely to be more than a day unless something goes fairly drastically wrong or there's a significant problem.

Also ask the garage to quote you the book time as most good places will have a program which states the time a job will take make sure they replace the full kit including slave cylinder

...also (as suggested by Cretesimon), if you've got the gearbox pulled back to get to the clutch, at 70k I'd be tempted to change (to the point of actually doing it) the slave cylinder which sits INSIDE the bellhoiusing and requires the gearbox out to get at it, unlike everything pre-puma where it was on the outside and could be chanaged with a beer in one hand, a spanner in the other and a quiet chortle...

If your slave cylinder goes, its a whole world of pain and upset (and expense unless youre doing it yourself) when you realise the gearbox has to come off the engine to have it changed...

Ask me how I know. Big Cry

A day really, shouldn’t be any longer unless a problem develops which is unlikely. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R
