United Kingdom 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Keswick Green
Vatican Defenders
Hi All,

I've just got back from a few days sightseeing in Rome, which included a tour of the Vatican museums.

At one point you go through a walkway which overlooks the private carpark for people who actually live in the Vatican

Here's a couple of pictures...

So with at least 2, maybe 3 Defenders ( I can't quite be certain about the one facing away from the camera) would that make the Vatican the country with the most Defenders per head in the world? The tour guide said there are only 820 people who live there, so that's 1 defender for every 400 people (or even less if there are 3).

EDIT: Actually, looking a bit closer, the closest one doesn't look quite right for a Defender.. is it a Santana?

Cheers

Jon

They all belong to the Vatican Fire brigade

The other one does appear to be a Santana

So whats the difference between a Massif and a Santana, didn't Santana build them? (Other than the fact they're both ugly!)

Not huge amounts, to be honest. It was largely a re-badged version of the previous Santana PS-10 but Iveco is Italian and this is in Italy (sort of), so it'll be an Iveco rather than a Santana. Darren

Ha, ignore that! I've just found an Italian web page that says it's a PS-10 afterall! They must keep their vehicles for a good length of time Rolling Eyes

I don't suppose they do many miles around the Vatican! Maybe the odd job if the wrong colour smoke comes out of the chimney Whistle
