Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread being here! I have had a ‘weak’ driver rise front door stay since just after I got my defender in 2019. I have bought a new one and fitted it - with difficulty! (Why did Land Rover use captive bolts all over the place but not securing the door stay through engine bulkhead so you can’t do the job single handed! Makes all sense!! Anyway… rant over!) It was ok for a bit but has failed again. Waste tweaked and failed again! Very little on this across the web and only vaguely referred to tangentially in the Haynes Manual (Not a.complete strip and rebuild like they use to be maybe?) This thread has been. Dry helpful and given som mnewapeoa he. I haven’t tried yet! Will reopen the conflict and report back!
