Trailer Tyres...
My Ifor GD105 could do with new tyres. It currently has 165 r13's on it.

I've seen horse boxes etc with chunky tyres on them and think this might be useful for a bit of extra height to avoid nose down towing.

Anybody know a brand of such a trailer tyre? > 110 XS Double Cab

I’ve got hankook van tyres on our horse trailer, it’s a big Censored as it takes three of ours and can take 3.5 tonnes, I’ve got 185r14c on it and it sits pretty level behind the Defender.

I’ve had to tow it in and out of some pretty soggy fields fully laden.

Would extra trailer height not make nose-down towing worse?

May have got wrong end of stick,

Matt

It would in theory, but that’s why you’d fit a Dixon Bate drop plate to adjust the tow ball to the trailer height. My trailer hitch sits pretty low as it’s designed that way for balance.

I had nose up towing with my IW GD84 (single axle) even with a drop plate, My 10 x 5 IW tipper is perfect and my IW twin axle box was OK on the lowest setting.

I did the 70's Capri jack up solution and swapped the axle under the springs, changed bump stops etc and it tows perfectly.
