Hello Swim_Cap
I can't answer the question between a CAT Removal and if this is likely to affect the MAF Sensor... But it is tempting to think that yours may not be just a coincidence. I had a MIL / Warning Light at about six month intervals with a P1103 fault code when I first got my 90 (a 2010/11 2.4 tdci all Standard Mechanicals) I bought a ScangaugeII as a consequence of this. My fix on about the 3rd occasion was to Clean the MAF with a 'specialised' cleaner (lots of don't use just anything for this on-line.... WD40 for example ) I do this once a year, with No reoccurrence now for 5 years. Maybe worth a try as you watch and wait for potentially this to repeat itself. Hello Swim_Cap
Hope this works for you… just to add from reading up a bit around the P1103 fault code on a Puma, I think that the MIL / Engine Warning Light re-sets itself after around 6 Engine Cycles, I’ve seen variations on exactly how many and to what actually counts as an Engine Cycle (Duration / Rev Range). My first / second P1103 did ‘self cancel’, after around a week of daily use. On plugging in the Scangauge P1103 was the recorded Fault Code, which could be Cancelled (with the ignition / not engine on). Another ‘observation’ my local independent said to me very early on when I got my 90 to keep an eye on and swap out the Air Filter regularly… the ‘Puma likes to breathe’. Good luck SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |
