The usual trick is to bend the hinge tabs on the bulkhead up a bit. What type of Defender is it? Puma or earlier? Darren

Hmm, ok. There should be a reasonable gap under the edge of the bonnet - in fact I've recently fitted a rubber seal to mine. However, I do wonder if you've got the correct pattern of chequer plate as the genuine ones don't go back as far as the aerial anyway? The Puma bonnet is noticeably wider at the rear than the earlier ones. Darren

My bonnet has actually worn a channel on the top of the mudguard. And no checker plate there. Reading through this forum, seems to be quite a common issue on Pumas.
My band aid was to glue a rubber strip to the bonnet.. I hope the rubber wears before the aluminium and that is quick and cheap to replace. But a 2 or 3mm checker plate might be too much. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Fitted a GL Stainless Sumo Bar and Drop Link Bar with Lemforder TREs as the old ones had seen better days, feels much better now Took an age to get the tracking right though. They are pretty heavy mind!

Replaced the nasty cut down door with a proper tailgate but stuck with the side opening.
Very pleased with the colour match. Click image to enlarge |

Been after one of these for ages and finally found one made in UK from stainless steel throughout. Nice simple design but also adjustable.
Shout out to Mat at @tintally_adventure for a great bit of kit. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

So I had to rip the enigine out just the other day, Fortunately its super easy for this set up and only took me two hours!
With it out though I did get chance to tidy some bits up and spend some time on the interior. Who likes this little wall of tech lol Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |

Not strictly what I did in my Defender today, but it was over the weekend
Greenlaning trip to North Wales. Weather was excellent, some great routes and stunning (as ever) scenery. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Managed to paint my drive with engine oil today while doing an oil and filters change today ...
Note to self - dont do this on a windy day in a rain storm ... ! All went well (apart from my self and the drive getting covered with oil ) and I even managed to re-set the oil service message !
