A familiar tale...
I confess that I gave up on replacing external aerials and opted for an internal one situated up in one of the roof lights. Works a treat and I have not had to replace an aerial in 8 or 10 years. |

No, the cable is usually integral with the aerial. You can however use the old one to pull a cord through and the cord to pull the new one back.

I don’t extend my telescopic wing antenna at all and still get a superb radio reception. When you do resolve/replace it, it might be worth a test in the lowered position Ride like you stole it!!

Thanks all - looks like a full replacement then. The annoying thing was it was unextended when said pigeon took offence to it! Folded it flat against the wing so no way of avoiding the expected snap when I needed to move it back off the wing!

Worth considering a Naka DAB one, then you’ll never have that issue nor will you have to manually extend it again. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

But then you lose your automatic roof height sensor
Having said that, the Naka DAB aerial is rather good 👍 |
