Seems a good price to me! I played off my local dealer (which was nearer to me) against an independant and got £150 shaved off the dealership price down to £350 for my service. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks chaps. Seems a decent price so I'll go for it. Also get an Evoque courtesy car to ridicule too. D300 HSE 110

Get an indy to do it if you want the stamp. it's just an oil change after all. over 300 quid to drain a sump and put new oil back in? beggars belief.

Maybe so but 'on the strength of historical posts' from your neck of the woods the dealers know the square root of f*** all about Land Rovers! No offence meant or implied! Mike, what you are saying is the way i went with an independent......But it will void your warranty on any bodywork claims as an independent don't nor can do the 12 month inspection/corrosion check..... I've just had 2 years of 5hit with them getting my vehicle sorted..... My advice to anyone getting an independent to do your service is to ask your dealer to do the 12 monthly inspection/corrosion check after you have had the service and get them to stamp it in your service book.....Even if you get the dealer to service your truck.... make sure they stamp your service books 12 month inspection/corrosion check......take a look and see if the dealer as ever stamps it......Good luck guys NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. Karlos, Did you get your bulkhead sorted? I had some rust/paintwork sorted on the rear, on a weld on the side and by the redundant window hinge blocks two weeks before my warranty ran out, they still insisted on photographing my Service Booklet prior though! Hi Mal, yes mate that's what i had all the trouble with got there in the end tho....its a long story but they did not want to touch it without that 12 month inspection/corrosion check..
But they had already warranted the work 2 years ago other wise i would have been NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

Mike, i'm on your side with this but they will try anything to get out of any warranty claim...this was my experience with LR...as they wanted to see my warranty book stamped up with the inspection/corrosion check...
It was only that the dealer had proof of LR 2 years ago warranting the claim other wise i would have been As they say an indy can't do the inspection/corrosion check NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

If I was pricing up the 12k service, including the VAT, Genuine Parts and workshop Castrol GTX 5w-30 A1, the most you'd be looking at is £240.
Really it is just the oil filter, drain plug, 6.9 litres oil and a 2.2 hour book time. |

None taken, but it is only an oil change after all. Someone who knows the square root of f-all about anything could probably accomplish it. |
