I was looking the other day and some suppliers offer a kit if you like along side a set of discs. i.e drive flanges, etc
Bearings have been done over the years. 1999 Defender TD5 110

What brand do you guys prefer other than the OEM? It's for a ROW Defender 90. I don't plan to upgrade calipers or anything other than the rotors.

What brand of rotors/discs do I prefer....

I've always had good customer service from EBC (https://ebcbrakes.com/) and have used them on my 3 prevoius vehicles.

Luke at LOF (https://lofclutches.com/) has been very helpful and the current set of pads and rotors are fitted F&R. Zaid-M

As above EBC are superb for rotors. On my second set on Miffy, although EBC do not do (or did not do) a rear disc for a 110/130. So, I have Britpart drilled and grooved on the rear and they have also been superb Thumbs Up

But... what made more of a difference to the breaking ability were the new brake servo, master cylinder and callipers... Night and day difference. Get those bits A1 at the same time as replacing the rotors and you will not go wrong. Thumbs Up

going off at a very slight tangent I've found the biggest performance upgrade to be......

well lets put it like this I very nearly ploughed into a traffic island in my M3 a few years back which had all the 'fancy spec' on the brakes - none the less I still had to pay a visit to the laundrette.

the defender has fairly low tech brakes by comparison but I've not even come close to having a similar issue......welll except for when I blow a seal on the front n/s caliper when going down a pass in the lake district. that aside.

the best performance upgrade for the brakes is to drive slower Smile

had I not been doing 120mph approaching an island and leaving the braking a little late I'm sure the brakes would have pulled me up just fine. slow is good - everything becomes over engineered Mr. Green

another Thumbs Up for standard brakes (unless you're on the track with an ls3)
