Awning advice wanted
I am looking at buying a Tuff-Trek Speedwing awning and would like some advice if anyone has already purchased one. I run a Britpart Expedition roof rack. Do you need additional brackets to fit it and was it fairly straightforward?

Many thanks,
Kevin

I got a TTH2 and it came with two heavy duty L brackets. they are designed to fit the channels on a roof tent.

I easily modified them to fit my roof bars, so wait till you get it and see what you can do,

By the way the TTH2 is a good piece of kit, happy with it.

Haven't got one but I spent quite a while looking at one on the TT display at the Overland & Expedition gathering last year. Very good and it's what I will get when the time comes to go for one.
I bought a roof tent off TT in May and had them fit it. Good people to deal with.

As said above I’ve got a TuffTrek HHT2.

Very happy with it.

Not free standing, you have to use poles, but not too bad once you get used to putting it up.

Comes with sides to make a large living space.

Not as heavy duty as the South African or Oz ones but I won’t need it for extreme conditions.

Easy to put away.

My only concern is laneing with it on, catching it on low branches. This is the compromise.

I would have had to buy 2. One for the side and one for the back.

Doing Ireland next week so will see how it performs on a western Atlantic highway trip.

Hi West4x4,
We went ahead and bought the Tuff-Trek SpeedWing. We have fitted it to our 110 on the side of our Britpart Expedition roof rack. I did modify the way I fixed it to the roof rack, as they supplied two fixing points and I wanted more. I cut some alloy flat bar, drilled it and made six fixing brackets. Can take some photos of the brackets tomorrow, if that would be helpful. We have used it once, and my daughter was able to set it up completely on her own and pack it away without assistance, which was what we wanted. It can be used with or without the legs.

Kind regards,
Kevin
