Wheel carrier & alloy wheel
I've got a 18" alloy to fit as a spare, just wondering if anyone has used a VPLDR0130 wheel carrier with an alloy & especially an 18"? Ads state its for 16" steels only.

Or maybe there's some recommendation of which wheel carrier to use?

Thanks

Worth checking out ORE https://ore4x4.co.uk/shop/land-rover-defen...l-carrier/. Well thought of on here, but worth a call to see if 18” Alloys will be ok with their carriers.
Noting that they can support big heavy 285/75r16 MT tyre setups that are circa 33 inch in diameter so I can’t think why they would have an issue with an 18 inch wheel tyre combo.

Yep, about twice the price of the std one you highlighted , so not cheap but avoids any drilling and is designed to take significant weight and large wheel/ tyre setups. If you depreciate it over 10 years that extra £350 is only 67 pence per week Very Happy that’s how I convince myself to go for quality products that cost more than standard Rolling with laughter

Second vote for ORE - Awesome bit of kit, so worth the money, even if its for peace of mind to prevent the rear door from stress cracking in the corners due to the normal boost alloy and tyre combo.

There's no technical reason why that carrier shouldn't work with 18" wheels. Going smaller may be an issue but bigger just means that there's more clearance behind the wheel. Darren
