Chamonix and trouble.
Hi all

After a long drive from South Wales to just below Reims and another 5 1/2 hours today to get to Chamonix i got an issue with the brakes just as I get into Chamonix town!
For some reason the brake peddle is quite hard, when I pump it with engine off and then start the engine the peddle goes down slightly and slowly. When driving the brakes work ish but then goes stiff and hardly works unless pressed quite hard.
It’s very hot here and I am thinking the heat in the engine bay has caused this, strangely the brake fluid seems to have risen too?
Recent work (about 1000 miles ago) replaced most of the brake lines and flushed with DOT 4

Any thoughts?

Might have to find lane rover indie of garage somewhere Shocked

I would be suspecting a vacuum leak to the servo. Followed by either the master cylinder and/or slave cylinder becoming faulty. During the 40DegC week here it was my slave cylinder that gave up the ghost. The seals just gushed DOT...

Hats off to Grenadier, he sent a message with lots of contact details for me to contact him and arrange to meet up and make some plans! Bow down
But I’m the meantime I had discovered the vacuum hose from the servo had a melted hole in it? It somehow must have warmed, dropped and touched the turbo?? It was a very long drive and outside temperature was hitting 43c in some places.
I’ve made a temporary repair with pipe sealing tape and gorilla tape plus cable tied it up to the breather.
All working well so far Mr. Green 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8
