I’ve cancelled too, same view as Familymad. At the moment I also happen to be working for a group that owns WBAC, Cinch, BCA, Marshalls etc and a challenging 12 months + is forecast. How it plays out in terms of pricing I don’t know, new cars builds are still constrained whether semiconductors or steel. Interesting times ahead.
On a different tack, this is coming next week, car no.1 for my son (he’s 15). My logic is that if he spends some time and effort tidying it up he is less likely to drive it poorly when he passes his test. We will see. Not many left now: Tax and MoT exempt, all very retro 😂 |

There’s quite an active market for these retro family cars of the 70/80’s. The 50/60’s British sports car scene has been done to death now, and there’s not much left for the restorer to find.
Good old bus that Volvo, but hope he can afford the petrol! 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |

That’s a cool ride. Slightly lowered with some banded steelies and he’d be cooler than a cool thing! What that would do for his insurance I don’t know! 1951 80" S1 2.0

He’s got a couple of years to work out how to pay for fuel and insurance! I don’t think he’ll do many miles in it, it’s only done 38k from new. Tidy it up and go to the odd show….

My son gets his own fully comp insurance on the 90 for £1700. He is putting fuel in at a rate of £75 a week so needs to find a fair sum a month from car valet services! 1951 80" S1 2.0

As far as I know my daughter is fully comp for under a £1000 on her 90 300 tdi station wagon. This is her third year under her own insurance. When pricing insurance on a 90 it had to be a station wagon as no one would quote her on a hard top. Yet she does all of the things in her 90 that any hard top would do. She tows a horse box, shifts bales in it and can carry passengers. It's her first car and she loves it. There are posts up her about her 90. She is in Northern Ireland and thus a UK address. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

My first insurance policy in 1988 for a 1.1L Fiesta was £709 fully comp. From memory, I was earning around £50 a week. My mates insured their wrecks/pride and joys 3rd party but from memory they were still paying £400+ on very standard cars. I think it’s always been a struggle for young drivers.
And I kept thinking that I would get a big decrease as I reached 25 / 30 but it never happened |

Wonder when the press get their hands on one for a test. Must be soon as the production was due to start in July? 1951 80" S1 2.0

Looked around 2 at the lincolnshire show yesterday. One of which was 99% production spec barring a few plastic parts on the dash apparently. I was quickly asked to get out of it as it wasn't open for the public to sit in apparently yet however there was a prototype one there we could have a good poke around in.
Lovely bit of kit, just too much £££ for me! |

I got the latest newsletter today. Seems they are sponsoring the All Blacks in New Zealand. They have INEOS on their shorts.

Hopefully, we should see a production vehicle soon, if not a well written article on the product, before we have to sign the FINAL contract when our deposit becomes none refundable. |
