I cannot believe what I am seeing. There’s me ASSUMING a 3rd row will always fold flat, like every other Land Rover has done previously… absolutely baffled by this design… 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS. |

I have a 2018 Toyota Prado 7 seat (after many Defenders) and the seats are designed to simply fold and create a flat floor. This car was designed at least 10 years ago. I can only conclude the photograph er didn't know how to fold them flat before shooting, as that is a

Looks like the 130’s 3rd row were lifted lock, stock and barrel from the 2nd row of seats in a 90 without any thought about use of the load carrying ability of the car. Cost cutting again………. That’s rubbish They have known how to make flat folding seats for over 15years the D3 was a great setup. This stinks if reusing parts to do it on the cheap. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

It's difficult to understand how they've taken such a massive step backwards in this area when compared to the D3/4 Darren

Ah Gerry's reductive philosophy in this case meaning inventing less parts...

I have slept in the back of a 90, I have slept in the back of a 110 but I do not see how I could sleep in the back of that. The length is great but the uneven seats just destroy the practicality. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

To me it looks like they did not lift the cushion prior to folding the squab. If I do this on the 110 I get similar uneven floor.
So I assume that with properly lifted cushions the seats will fold flat. The step between boot floor and folded seats will remain however, just like in the 90. |

They’ve totally lost the plot with this seat setup. As others have said, just look at disco 3/4, so well planned out, mine was to carry all sorts, couldn’t do it with this. Do you think JLR really know what people want and need from these vehicles 🤔, or is Gerry really so far up his own arse, that he doesn’t care.

If you can get away with just 5 seats you can get a reasonably flat floor, but I would have thought the main reason for the extra length is the extra seating available

Rivian has shown the way forward…….and shows how far JLR are lagging behind
However, it’s not priced to encourage the masses into what would be a very practical and stylish EV station wagon. But then, what is these days…….. |

Apparently the 5 seat version is not currently available for order in the USA - plus no diesel or four cylinder models. The step up for the rearmost seat like the one in the 90 really screws up the concept of the flat floor.

guestimates that in the land down under is that the 130 is going to come in at about $24K Aussie
above their equivalent 110 versions. Our 110 7 seat SE delivery cost including full list of options, dealer bits and the exorbitant government $$ charges is the equivalent of the starting price for the 130 and that is before you add the equivalent factory and dealer options i had https://www.drive.com.au/news/2023-land-ro...australia/ yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |
