Hi,
I have been offered an Alpine 133BT from a 2016 Defender. I have a 2012 Defender with the standard radio / cd player. I have removed this but the "sleeve" for the Alpine does not seem to fit into the slot. Is there an existing sleeve to remove or do I have to butcher the existing (which I don't want to do) to make the new sleeve fit. Can't seem to find anything from anyone else having a problem so am I missing something. Any help greatly appreciated. |

If you're still stuck, some pictures would help me (and probably others) get our heads around the question.
I expect there's an original sleeve (or cage) to remove. There was when I did mine. Best of luck Thanks Jon |

Jon,
Thanks for the reply - I will have a closer look and hopefully there will be a cage / sleeve as you say. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again. BOB |

There's some pieces to pry out that may still be there and some finishing with a file according to the LR 133BT installation manual: https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...DE0060.pdf
I know when I fitted mine, the alpine cage was incredibly tight in the hole and had to be eased very slightly with a file. |

Yep, the items on p.1 box 4 of the guide that Gasket posted are what I encountered!
