Are you me? I literally wrote that for the garage when I took mine in for service a couple of months ago
![]() Turns out for my case, the nut mounting the gear stick to the seletor mechanism on the gearbox side is loose and just needs tightening. |

Good advice for the OP.
Also a good opportunity to adjust the gear lever bias springs to take up any play. This can make a huge difference to buzzes & rattles, & improves the gear selection. Cheers, Lionel |
