I made an aluminium box/cubby that I slotted in and fixed into the seatbox under the front passenger seat (the one without the battery). There are only a few fuses in there and loads of empty space, so the box is big enough for a handbag/small laptop/camera etc. You access it from the opening at the front. There is no door on mine but it is in such a position that it is impossible to see it from outside - I made it before traveling to Italy ![]() Just a little project for some "discrete" extra space ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... The 'cage' was standard as it was a Tombraider Limited Edition. It is classed as a 'roof rack support system' as it isn't strong enough for a roll cage. John

Ze..
I think I need to do some exploring! I know were the battery is but I didn't realise that there was another space. Project for tomorrow, take land rover appart & find all bit's that move, unclip etc Cheers Sorry JSG, by cage I meant the patriot security cage. I didn't describe it very well. |

It looks very good. I emailed the company & they sent me a good bit of info about both the draw & the chest. Is that chest bolted in? I like the look & the build quality looks good but I have a heart attack at the price! |

Hi AP
It is bolted in, waterproof and the locks are stong as well ![]() Expensive but the build and quality are excellent. If you are down in Somerset let me know, you are more than welcome to inspect. Bob |

Thanks Bob,
I may take you up on that if I'm that way. I think either that or the draw will be on the christmas list. Can I ask, were do you store the spare wheel if thats a DC? I've been looking for a rear bracket or swing away. ![]() |

It sure is, that's a very nice DC. The seats looks fantastic.
I think I found the thread for the swing away the other day. Looks very well built. I like the look with the wendy house off, I'll have to try mine like that soon. Early night now!!!! Lol ![]() ![]() |

According to the brochure the 90's 'cargo bed length is 1144 & the DCPU is 1020
So it's a fair bit shorter. HTH |

Wife took her test in a 90 pick up (not the same but similar!) and so that was our most used vehicle.
I soon discovered that an untethered surfboard will NOT stay in the back when driving at 60ish... one snapped board, one red face... DOH! Probably similar in the above?! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |
