Smart smoke detectors

Hi
Anyone got any experience of Smart smoke alarm/detectors?
Any to avoid OR what is best?

I am thinking the Nest 2nd Gen ones might be best but at just shy of £100 per detector I want to make sure I am buying right.
I use OS and also have Amazon Alexas around the house. I have a very good commercial grade WiFi network & 4g.

I have nest ones and to be honest, they're really good.

As for what they do:

They act as a night light if you move around in the dark

They talk, so they give you a clear indication of what's detected and where

They also send you a message to your phone if you're absent

Another vote for Nest for reasons above.
Mine might be 1st gen, not sure.
Had them for around 4+ years now, have been faultless & not yet had to change a battery (they tell you when they need it).

Before you launch into a big purchase check that there isn’t going to be a law change with respect to domestic smoke and flame detectors coming in the next 2-3 years. Here in Scotland we have been supposed to have had interlinked heat, flame and CO detectors fitted in certain rooms in every house (old or new build) since February. I have purchased wirelessly interlinked Fireangel heat and fire detectors (I have no open fires in the house house so no CO detector is required). I went over and above the rules as a boxed set of detectors was cheaper than buying the 3 that were required in my bungalow by adding a detector in each bedroom and an additional heat detector out in the garage. My only reason for adding the bedroom detectors was that the audible alarm wasn’t that powerful an alarm in the lounge and hall if the bedroom doors were closed. Interlinking means if one sensor is triggered then all the sensors will sound. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
