Prob need a dealer. I would take it in and they may not know you've changed out the wheel, and thus may do it under warranty

To follow up on my own thread I managed to recalibrate the steering without needing to go to the dealer or using any specialist equipment, and I'm finally rid of the warning light..
Steps are as follows: 1. Make sure the front wheels are pointing dead-ahead 2. Remove the steering wheel 3. Start the ignition and rotate the grey forked sleeve on the steering column clockwise until the TCS light comes on. (That's where the car thinks its beyond full clockwise lock.) 4. Turn the engine off, and turn the grey sleeve half a turn anti-clockwise. (we do this otherwise the TCS light will come straight on again when the ignition is on) 5. Turn the engine on, and count the number of turns the grey sleeve needs turning anti clockwise until the TCS light comes on. (This is where the car thinks its beyond full anticlockwise lock) 6. Turn the engine off, and turn the grey sleeve half a turn clockwise (to match the half turn we performed in step 4) 7. Subtract 1 (to account for the two half turns) from the number of anti-clockwise turns and divide by two.. and then turn the grey sleeve clockwise by that number. The grey sleeve is now positioned exactly half way between left lock and right lock. 8. Re-attach steering wheel. |

Apologies to bring this topic back, just found out that you are the only one in the universe who gave the right way to reset the TCS.
Still I wasn’t lucky to get it done, something might be done wrongly with my steps. Let’s start with the two exposed plastics, are they spoused to be horizontal position when the steering is straight or vertically? Click image to enlarge |

If you have or can borrow a Nanocom with the latest software update it will provide live data for the steering angle sensor, so you can position it to 0 degrees prior to refitting the steering wheel. It is hidden in a submenu, may be the ABS system.
I have had to recalibrate a 2015 one after a clueless garage changed the steering box and returned it with steering wheel at an angle. |
