Brought the 110 home this afternoon. It was faultless on the 30ish miles home. Really lovely to drive. There’s some awful squeak coming from behind the dash that increases when accelerating, so I think it’ll be the speedo or tacho. The gearbox needs a bit of getting used to, it’s not as “refined” as my Td5’s R380 with LOF kit and Slickshift.
Interestingly, the GB sticker is branded Sealink Car Ferries. Sealink died in 1984 and the 110 was registered in 1983. Possibly it went abroad in its first year. Who knows? Oh, the exhaust is FAR too quiet for my liking Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Charlie 1949 Series 1 80 (SOLD) 2002 Td5 90 (SOLD) 2008 Freelander 2 (SOLD) 1958 Series 2 88 Pastel Green (2019 LR Legends Best Restored) 1983 V8 110 Limestone (Previously owned by Tom Sheppard MBE) 2004 Td5 90 Santorini Black (Td5INSIDE Powered & Rebuilt by CSK) 2012 Puma 110 Zermatt Silver (Overlanding Build) Instagram: @BaronDefenders |

Yes, that is nice.
The early One Tens are becoming more popular now. (Did I see it on for sale on the Stage 2 Register page)? I have a 1983 factory V8 utility too, which hasn't been repainted. I was intending to re-tax it this summer, but the current price of petrol is somewhat of a disincentive! Hopefully yours will get a slightly better MPG! First little jobs done on the 110.
The LT85 had some awful metal gear knob with lights on, so that’s been binned. I swapped the LT230 knob out at the same time. Click image to enlarge I’ve also made a start on improving the security Charlie 1949 Series 1 80 (SOLD) 2002 Td5 90 (SOLD) 2008 Freelander 2 (SOLD) 1958 Series 2 88 Pastel Green (2019 LR Legends Best Restored) 1983 V8 110 Limestone (Previously owned by Tom Sheppard MBE) 2004 Td5 90 Santorini Black (Td5INSIDE Powered & Rebuilt by CSK) 2012 Puma 110 Zermatt Silver (Overlanding Build) Instagram: @BaronDefenders |

Made a start on some jobs today.
Pulled the front propshaft to replace the UJs, before deciding I’d rather like to fit a new Gwyn Lewis one Put in some new spark plugs, although the old ones looked fine. Changed the air filter - what a hateful job! Tried to drop the engine oil, but I don’t have a socket the right size for the plug . . . Parts and tools ordered to have another crack in two weeks Charlie 1949 Series 1 80 (SOLD) 2002 Td5 90 (SOLD) 2008 Freelander 2 (SOLD) 1958 Series 2 88 Pastel Green (2019 LR Legends Best Restored) 1983 V8 110 Limestone (Previously owned by Tom Sheppard MBE) 2004 Td5 90 Santorini Black (Td5INSIDE Powered & Rebuilt by CSK) 2012 Puma 110 Zermatt Silver (Overlanding Build) Instagram: @BaronDefenders |
