United Kingdom 2004 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Santorini Black
It’s been a while, so time for an update.

The One Ten is going strong at the moment. I’ve recently done 1,600 miles around Ireland in it, where the only issue was a very slow leak on the clutch master. Now replaced with a Wilwood unit.

Last weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to take the wagon to be reunited with its first owner, Tom Sheppard. Tom, when he had the One Ten, had had a set of ladders bespoke made to serve as sand ladders. The rungs are closer together than a standard ladder, and the ends are angled so they can be rammed under a tyre. Tom had kept these and very kindly gave them to me! I’ll be replicating the stowage method for the ladders shown in VDEG. Tom also gave me four NATO water jerries, all of which were used on trips with the One Ten and subsequently.

The next job on the One Ten is to rebuild the door tops over the autumn.

Excellent to get to meet the man himself. If ever there was somebody who could claim to have been there and done that, it would be him. Darren

He’s an absolute gentleman and has a story or two to tell! For nearly 91, he’s incredibly active and still has his mental agility. Charlie
