What could this be?
Looking around a potential purchase today (110 200tdi) and wondered what this contraption on the rear a frame might be

Just curious really.

Boge self levelling strut.... allowed you to have relatively soft springs (to give a nice ride) yet pump itself up if you loaded the bus up.

I've never experienced one myself but they seem to have a fairly good reputation.

Famous for causing spectacular body roll on corners though.

And because it is quite old now, probably death and not working correctly. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

Dreadful things, inherited from the RRC, in 40 years of working on 110's never known one to function correctly, even when brand new.

Best solution is to remove them and replace with Standard Springs and Standard ''A'' frame ball joint. Richard

Either a 90, 110 or 130.

Thanks all. The defender is now here with me and the rear suspension has been upgraded so this can go. I'll add it to the to do list Smile Thumbs Up
