On the subject of - nipples
...or to be more specific propshaft grease nipples.

Has anyone seen evidence of the grease points on the propshafts having received any lubrication during a service? Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.

Rear prop was certainly greased at last service, no evidence of the front being touched but that does not mean that it was not done - I just can't see any excess grease being thrown off onto the chassis etc. As the fronts are so difficult to do on mine they were probably done but maybe not as much grease used and hence no excess being thrown off.

Looking at how the factory have installed the grease nipples on the front shaft, even with a ground down adaptor there is no way a standard adaptor will connect.

Now I have a right angle adaptor from Stephens Lube (see Bpman's thread) the front prop will be done this weekend Thumbs Up

Bob

Not here. I do not think the stealer even had a gun. They prefer to exchange propshafts and broken gearbox cases. Puma 110" SW

What type of grease should be used for this? Universal grease, or something specific?
