Well done Chip butty and Stefan
Just a shame that CAI didn't include that vital info on their installation sheet, would have saved everyone a lot of bother |

I hope that all rev counters now function. It is suddenly no longer a topic. There were more rev counters that did not work, I am only curious about the experience of the others.

Mine works now too with the new wiring configuration which included the use of the internal pull up resistor on my non abs td5

Hi all, sorry to drag up this old post.
Has anyone fitted one recently made by smith gauges from rimmer bro’s?? I’ve got it wired up correctly as in the previous page, Red/blue-----------------------pulse from pin 19 red-----------------------------ign. live 12v green--------------------------ign. live 12v black---------------------------earth red/white----------------------gauge illumination 12v from other gauge or side lights No white/black cable in this plug. however, The rev counter doesn’t move at all, main problem one. Have run the wire direct from the ecu (even though I’ve got the cable fitted up to the dash loom from factory!) Second problem, the illumination of the gauge works without the ignition on, when ignition is switched on, the illumination of the gauge turns off. All wiring has been check over numerous times, and tested with a multimeter. |
