well with in two weeks the diesel has gone from 1.48 to 1.51, Taking the mick now, I recon before the year is out, it will be £2. petrol for some reason in some petrol stations is dropping back and its about 1.43, but again that's starting to creep up.

Do you lads recon there will be a point where running a diesel wont be much cheaper than running a petrol, or even making it the other way around , due to the price of fuel?

A friend of mine is seriously thinking on switching back to petrol Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I went from a 118d to a 120i same route each day my average mpg in the d was 42, in the i it is 30.

Similar % difference on a run at any speed so diesel would need to be over 20% more expensive to make a petrol 1 series BM cheaper to run fuel wise.

my defender 2.4d does more mpg on the daily trip to work than the 120i (not quite the case on trips above 50mph) DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Some of us get free “fuel” in our cars………….. my Mini has cost £15.50 in paid for fuel over 1700 miles and since November 2021, all the other fuel it’s consumed has been free using the local fast charger network……that is free apart from the one off £10 payment for the RFID card. The £15.50 has been charging in offpeak periods on my home charger while I sleep soundly. Just added 95 miles range while I was shopping in town that also cost zilch and no parking fees either if charging the car. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Paid £1.459 for diesel at Stirling Sainsbury on Monday and it was still the same when I took a neighbour shopping there yesterday. Morrison’s on the other side of town was 3p a litre more expensive than Sainsbury too. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

i think where i work, may make the bits for the BMW mini. I have seen one EV mini upfront, Not sure how they are compared to the petrol counter part. Only difference i could see was the grill, I would say id own one over the Nissan leaf. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Procta , it’s no 2.0ltr JCWorks version but still great fun - claimed 0-60 is 7 secs but it feels way faster than that and although it has no gears I can spin the wheels dead easy even flooring it at 50mph. It has 181hp through the front wheels and 199lbft of torque from zero rpm. Plenty of the folks on the Mini SE group also have or have had ICE engined Minis and they say the Cooper SE is much more fun. It’s a city car really with 100 miles range at this time of year but getting on for 145 in the summer. It’s battery is only 28.9kWhr usable - 32.5 rated and while it might have smaller than usual range that small battery means it charges quickly and it’s efficient too I’m regularly seeing 4miles/kWhr which is better than it’s lightweight sister the carbon fibre BMWi3 can do……… on wider tyres and with a steel body. For me it’s range isn’t an issue even though I live out in the sticks. I’m 16 miles from the nearest supermarket one way and 25 miles from the centre of Glasgow in the other direction and there’s loads of chargers in between in case I get anxious…….. I have a wall charger at home (to take advantage of various grants before they dry up and I start to have to pay to use public chargers at significantly more than I pay of cheap rate lecky. I don’t have any special tariffs from my supplier other than normal 14.8/kW off peak from Bulb but there are much cheaper EV tariffs from the likes of Octopus Energy. I topped off the battery during last night on off peak for 80p ready for a round trip into Glasgow City Centre tomorrow - fallen tress permitting! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

I filled up today and the diesel was £1.477
On 19th February 2021, I filled up with diesel and it was £1.187
Both were from the cheapest place near me, Asda.

My electricity has gone up by a fraction over 50% in the past year.
So, what’s the rate of inflation? Bit more than the published figures for me!
