Thanks for all the input for the 255/85’s! Bit the bullet and had some Toyo 255/85/16’s fitted last week!
![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Love the look, fill the arches so much better than the 235/85’s i had on previously!! Happy with the road performance of the Toyo’s aswell considering a mud terrain tyre, still need to test them on some lanes!! |

Yes I agree. Spring isolators give about 12mm of lift, which might be enough without faffing about with springs and Dampers. It’s what I’m thinking of using. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop |

I disagree that it needs a lift, I think 255’s look better without the lift, especially when you look from the front, with a lift they appear that bit too skinny for my liking. I run at approximately 1” lowered for normal driving but it does look interesting when you go even lower
![]() Click image to enlarge They are definitely one of the best sizes available for defenders, although I am going to be going wider to a 285 soon which should give the look and performance I’m after. |

The most purposeful looking defender i have seen. assuming theres no lift to it, do you have uprated suspension at all? the older i get the more i want to drop mine back to standard ride height ![]() Click image to enlarge |
