Random Electrics
Evening all.

I have noticed that when I go over a harsh speed bump or hit a pot hole the radio/ blowers and centre console backlights go off.
After switching it off and on they all work again.
All fuses checked and are good!!

Could it be a bad earth and if so where are they??

Any ideas are much appreciated 👍🏻🙈

There's an earth cable in the driver's side wheel arch to the chassis. No idea if that's the issue but it's easy to check.

I had the exact same issue a few weeks ago after the car had been in for some work.

Turned out the negative battery lead had come off the terminal and it was only the spring-back of the cable that was holding the cable against the terminal.

Followed an excellent tip from the forum to use some copper shim around the battery terminal to allow the clamp to really take hold. That fixed it.

My backlights come on/off/flicker as I rotate the heater output direction control around. I've not had a look yet, but whatever the bad connection is, it is definitely local to that area. So don't rule out something in or close to the panel.

Sorry, no answer for you, but I'll come back and update when I get a chance to pull it apart and investigate.

Just taken all earths off the bulkhead under the bonnet and cleaned them. Still no better.
Ran out of daylight so will see what I can find at the weekend.
Also, what is the green box(ECU) that is next to the fuses under the dash?
There is an orange with grey striped wire not connected in the plug

Thanks for letting me know, I will see if I can fine where the wire is supposed to connect to know.

UPDATE on the Orange wire from the ECU...... It isn't supposed to be connected as it is acting as an Aerial

But still no further on with the other electrical gremlins Confused
