Dropped a nut :-(
Noticed wing mirrors a bit wobbly to wiped the door hinge bolts out and loctited the mirror bolts... went to re attach door hinge and dropped a nut which has now vanished into thin air. Should have dropped into the drivers footwell or at very worse into door. No sign of it anywhere.... Any Ideas? anything magnetic that could have caught it?

Will go get anther later, but this one is def in the car somewhere

The nuts normally drop into the bottom of box steel and difficult to recover.

You need a few of these?

I did the same today, fiddly little things! Eventually found mine, but a real pain having to take the door card off looking for it.

Usually just pry the bottom of the door card away and they fall out the bottom. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Door card is already out... no sign of the little Censored .

I've bought some more now, but don't really want to leave a random nut loose somewhere.

@matchap - Fortunately it's the nuts on the inside of the door end of the hinge, not the bulkhead ones.... although I have a trick for those:

Assuming you have 2002 door, the bottom channel has some drain holes, but unsure if an M8 nut can go through. If it does, then it will get trapped in the bottom channel, as the lower most 3 drain holes behind the rubber seal are very small. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
