The nuts normally drop into the bottom of box steel and difficult to recover.

I did the same today, fiddly little things! Eventually found mine, but a real pain having to take the door card off looking for it.

Usually just pry the bottom of the door card away and they fall out the bottom. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Door card is already out... no sign of the little .
I've bought some more now, but don't really want to leave a random nut loose somewhere. @matchap - Fortunately it's the nuts on the inside of the door end of the hinge, not the bulkhead ones.... although I have a trick for those: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Assuming you have 2002 door, the bottom channel has some drain holes, but unsure if an M8 nut can go through. If it does, then it will get trapped in the bottom channel, as the lower most 3 drain holes behind the rubber seal are very small. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
