egr valve error p0234 p0100 p0404
Hello everyone

Here I have this default code on my defender puma 2007. the turbo hoses are in good condition. a while ago I was riding gently down a steep hill.the egr valve made a kind of derailment noise and the defender c is set to smoke black. can the fault codes come from the egr valve?

thanks

Have you checked your intercooler hasn’t failed, if you know your hoses are good.

Have a read of this https://www.defender2.net/forum/post135415.html.

It could be an EGR issue, but If your vehicle has not triggered a MIL (malfunction indicator lamp - orange engine light on dash) and triggered limp mode, and has been running fine since then take a note of the codes, clear them, and monitor them daily for a week, then weekly for a month to see if they come up again during normal use. If not you should be fine.

I already had these fault codes I had erased.

I'm not sure it's normal, but the engine runs better when cold, I don't feel the turbo anymore.

and at the moment I have more power in 6th on a flat road, I have the impression of accelerating in a vacuum

In the first instance I would get some MAF sensor cleaner , I.e Liqui Moly 4066 Air Flow Sensor Cleaner , and give the MAF and MAP sensors a clean.

https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69503.html?highlight=maf

I would also check air filter is clean and all hoses from filter box to turbo, turbo to intercooler and intercooler to inlet manifold are tight and not split.

Also check the intercooler is not breaking at the seams.

the maf and map sensor is around 1 year old. the air filter and clean. when I switch off the ignition, I have all 5 chuka chuka, but then I hear a shrill noise and sometimes a slight crack.

he map and just oily. I have 3 engine cover gasket which leaks at the level of the injectors and a little smoke coming out of the breather or the hot engine filler cap
