Probably the worst days work Apple ever did binning the Classic. I know it didn’t fit in with their ‘everything connected to the cloud’ philosophy, but as with our politicians who all sit in central London with every conceivable convenience to their hands (and expecting the same for their Minions in the sticks Whistle ) I would imagine connectivity is amazing in Silicon Valley, California Rolling Eyes

They (the mobile phone companies) are still trying to bring 4G to large parts of Norfolk. And I believed 5G was the way to go?

Sorry Clayton, mine is not for sale as I am still a great fan.

I think perhaps it shows the appreciation of them as I would have assumed that with everyone (supposedly) streaming everything now, there would be loads of people getting shot of their iPod Classics as old tech seems to be such an embarrassment to so many.

I was going to say you can have mine if it was 160gb. However I just "sized" mine up and its a Nano 3rd generation so tiny, tiny.

Its been in the glove box for 6 years and oddly I plugged it over Christmas (after removing the glove box) and amazed it still works. Tracks are however a bit dated.

If it helps I have an 80gb classic in the T5 and when I wanted to 'mirror' a similiar arrangement in the 90 I realised that the boy had stopped using his iPod touch (can't recall size but an older one)

Anyhows it was relatively straightforward to wipe it clean and then re-purpose it for the truck Cool

The only real difference is you need a lightning connector rather than the older larger style adaptor lead albeit I Bluetooth it in the 90 and only use the lead to charge

Okay so I've been using a Chrome extension for years called Cloud to Butt Plus. It changes 'cloud' to 'butt' on any webpage. It always gets a giggle out of me because I don't expect it, and your comment really made me chortle. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I have been accused of talking out of my butt Rolling with laughter

I like it Rolling with laughter

In truth Clayton, I don’t use my iPod as much as I did, but it has tracks on there that Spotify or Amazon Music just haven’t got or maybe obscure mixes of tracks that don’t seem to be available on those platforms.

I still have all our hundreds of CDs but hardly anything to play them on now.

Laughing can't offer an actual classic but maybe you can revive yours or mod a similar model like I have done with my 2005 iPod Photo. I couldn't click the wheel anymore, which turned out to be due to the battery nearly bursting Shocked Also the harddisk was faulty. With a new battery and an SD card, it's as good as new. I upgraded from 30GB to "just" 64GB but you can get SD cards upto a gazillion Bytes I think Very Happy

Sorry I was simply meaning you could use a newer 'touch' type with a small mod to the charger / connection lead.......
Both my 'classic' and newer 'touch' are mirrored but used in different vehicles

I think I have a 160GB classic somewhere - let me get back to you...

*edit* - it's a 120GB not a 160GB, is that still any use?

Hi Clayton,
Sorry mate, I just checked and the only things I have are 30Gb. There might be a 60Gb I can’t put my finger on yet, but that still won’t be much use to you!

Perhaps you could have one for artists A-H; one for I-O; then P-Z….?

Hope you find one. Donald
