Quick aux power question
I’ve read the post about installing a rear power socket…. Mine relates to the front.

I’ve bought a little double usb socket I want to install inside my cubby box. Clearly the battery is very close in the seat box next to it. Can I simply wire this socket straight to battery negative and positive with a fuse in line? Would like constant power even when ignition off.

If not, what should I do?

Yes, but for safety place an in-line fuse in the positive wire as you have mentioned. Either a five or ten amp fast blow. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I have always wired USB sockets through a switch, as I believe they are a constant but small drain.

As Gilarion said but fuse as close to battery live as practical.

It won’t cause any battery drain as long as it doesn’t have any lighting such as an LED indicator or similar lighting.
If it does then it won’t be any good. (Unless switched).
