Headlamps fault

I have a 2004 TD5 and fitted new Britpart Lynx LED a couple of years ago; they have been a fantastic addition and have transformed night vision.

I have just returned from a cross-country drive and when switching from dipped to main/high beam, the right-hand lamp won't go to main beam. I can put both lamps on high by pulling the stalk toward me [and the blue indicator light comes on] but if pushed toward the dash, only the left comes on without the blue indicator light. The right occasionally flickers.

Is this likely to be fuse or the relay behind the binnacle?

Any advice is much appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Suggest that it is most likely your light switch in the column that is failing. If you don’t have a Boomslang style relayed wiring loom between the switch and lights it burns our the switch. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

If it was the switch I’d think it would make both headlamps have the same problem. I think I’d start by checking fuses.

Cant really get my head around how this fault can occur (unless the original wiring has been modified).
It is a common cable for both lights through the stalks and right upto the fuseboard where it splits for right and left bulbs. There is no difference/discrimination in the wiring for whether normal full-beam or dipped beam is selected.

The only difference is on the supply to the stalk where a different fuse feeds the 'flash' position but if it was a fault on the supply fuse, the other full beam lamp or dipped beam would not function either.

Has the wiring been messed with at all?

Another thing that is different is that when on main beam the dipped is off, but in flash you get main, and dipped power. Is this what you are getting at bulb?

Really odd not having the warning dash light. Have you tried swapping relay?

Thank you for the suggestions; the relay was fine and it seems it was a dubious fuse, and all is fine for the moment.
