I Still have the OEM plastic part...

Probably harder to fill the surround buttons at the side in, but I could 3D printer a cover plate

Find it hard to believe that people would not like a modern radio with Bluetooth, android / apple car play, reversing camera, sat nav, speed camera, etc etc...

Its a chance I'm willing to accept Thumbs Up

Yes you are right.
Unfortunately the 2-din fascia's are still expensive and I want to have it installed by a professional.
SO I guess, I have to accept the higher price although a 1din flip-screen like Alpine's Halo9 is way more expensive then let's say a Kenwood DMX7018

I’ve had my DD installed a couple of years with the pioneer F88. I’ve done everything to try make it fit flush, even heated the plastic heater pipe deforming it backwards. Nothing I have tried works

I’ve given up. It’s a lost cause until I replace the unit

It has however given me time to order the replacement bulbs around the heating controls and a metal clip that disappeared off the original facia.

Hi Matty, you mentioned you managed to replace one of the missing fascia panel spring clips - do you have the part number or a link you can share as I need to get a couple - many thanks
