Portugal 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
Number plate light/bulb
Hello All,

When I took the defender for MOT it came with an advisory for the number plate light, its not strong/bright enough. I checked and changed the bulb but nothing changed.
Does anyone have an Idea of what could be the issue? I have a week off work and thought I could try and repair it.

Corroded connectors possibly, I’d suggest a Wipac LED replacement unit.
The factory number plate light suffers with a lot of corrosion related issues. Chillin In The BackwoodsπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Is this the standard Landrover light fitting? There should be two small bulbs and it is always worth checking the lens is clean as these often get gunked up with mud and moss as the fitting is poor and rarely watertight. If all is present and correct the lamp should illuminate adequately.

Thank you both, this is the standard Land Rover, it only has one light bulb, not 2.
Steve do you have a link for the Wipac led replacement?

This particular one is good, straight fit no mods needed except for wiring connections.
