Well i have made a start on doing a rolling restore on this, over the weekend, i have started to roll out those odd jobs, that you always needed to do.
i bought some white Grease to do the window systems, but found out after i took the door to pieces, that id have to open the motor up, and the last time we had to do that, it ended up been a job and half putting that back together, with a mate of mine.
So i left that one, Also i decided to give the Heater blower a good spray down with WD40, As it screeches and screams at you now and again, Gives you a shock when you are driving a long and its starts to screech at you, Not fun if you are taking a date out Rolling Eyes
I have also changed a centre console and a button, ( will get a photo of the finished job)
Also i decided to un do a mod that was done to it years ago, the paint had seen better days now,

So its looking less of a shed now!
Also gave it an OIL and filters change too, and the defender will be getting done at the same time this week, Next week i have to put this in for a MOT, i will really need to sort the rear bumper and rear quarter out, as that's looking well bad, to the point i am shamed to show it! I am looking at getting the original wheels done too, but i think we are looking at 1000, as i have to get 5 referbed and new tyres on to make it worth it.
i looked at changing my front fogs over, but that's a bumper off job that! I am going to have to read up on how to remove the front bumper on this, with it been french its not easy to work on compared to the rover metro. Laughing
Still a cracker of a car though! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

well i am trying to get a quote on sorting the paint on this, that passenger side arch has seen better days sadly. Sad but then again the car is 20 years old.
Anyway a few days ago some one posted this on the facebook group i am a moderator of. ( the forums dead now sadly but i think that's another story )

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334199482720?_t...%7Ciid%3A1

Yep these have shot up in price, and that's not the only 306, cars that were going for peanuts at the beginning of the year are going for a 1000 more. Shocked
The one for sale in the link is identical to mine, But a lot cleaner, but mine has less mileage on it. So looks like i have a practical classic here that's starting to jump in value. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Got back to from a quotation from my local body shop, and the car is going to need a rear quarter, the assessor, said that's too far gone and it will go through. Looking at 2k to get that all sorted, I have managed to find a full quarter panel which is close to 500 quid. So we are looking at few quid here to restore the car and done properly. Too much of a strong car to get shot and its only done 111k, most of these had that sort of mileage back in the mid 2000s. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Well what a nightmare i have had, On my way home from work, the cars charging light came on. I was like Censored !!! So i had to try and hang on to get the car home, as i knew i was on borrowed time, People volume of traffic and people taking their time. She said sorry and cut out on me right on the rounderabout, and would not start, Big Cry I managed to get her to fire back over and pull just off the road. My dad had to tow me back. Big Cry Right in the middle of rush hour. Big Cry
Just to top that off, my mam bust the driver side door handle too, Rolling Eyes So i have now a winter project on my hands, the alternator change on a 306 is going to be a laugh. On its original alternator and the car is 20 years old, i cannot not complain at all. So i have just ordered a nice heavy duty one for her and a new belt. Thumbs Up nearly £200 Shocked Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
