Rear fog lamp not working
So, I replaced the head unit in my Defender and all is working well with exception of the rear fog lamp. Neither the small light on the switch or the lamp itself comes on. Everything else is as it was in working order. What might I have done?

Ray - I thought that myself, but when I checked the switch it was plugged in and so far as I can see is as it should be.

Got a multimeter?

Check fuse 26 rated at 10 amps. There is also a rear fog lamp ecu. Ultimately a voltage check at the fuse output and at the light will tell what's going on or not as the case may be.

The system is earth switched on the switch pin4 or header point K109 terminal 14 if either of these are detached this too would cause your symptoms. It may 'look and feel' plugged in but is the circuit compromised? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Worth checking the connector on the rear of the switch is firmly pushed home too.
I assume you already have done this though..

Don't want to suggest something so simple but the light and switch only illuminate when the lights are on. I also thought I had done something wrong here when I installed the HU, but then realised my light on/off confusion.

Scotiach - thank you! That's was EXACTLY my error too - all is now well.

And thank you everyone else - fortunately not too complex a problem, although I feel like a lemon ...
