Hookers, drugs and booze works for me. Whatever money is left over I tend to squander…….

With one daughter starting university in Galway this year and another one probably next year ( who is really keen to go to Queens Uni in Belfast -more expensive) I am going to be so so broke at the end of all.
But then they will be firmly given the Judge Judy advice - " Get A Job !"

Well hopefully they'll put me in a decent care home when/if the time comes !

Oh I remember those 80s stereos! Bought my own with the savings I gathered all year (birthday, Christmas etc). Although a different make (IIRC a Blaupunkt), it did have twin cassettes and high speed dubbing, and I was over the moon with it. The next year, I bought a cd player (Sony) to go with it, and my first ever cd single. It's quite embarrassing now, but it was Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby hahaha! Played it over and over, since it was the only cd I had and cd's certainly weren't cheap in those early days. Must have been late 80s early 90s, good times!

Nowadays, all the money I (we) manage to save, goes to paying off extra on our mortgage and finishing the house that we have had build in 2018. And to cater to the needs of our two girls, one of which is into horses and the other one (5yo) wants to be a fireman Laughing

I toyed with the idea of buying a boat, but came to the conclusion that marina and maintenance are very costly. Alternatively, I looked at a trailer sailer that I could take home for storage to avoid marina costs and regular coats of anti fouling etc, but with me wanting it to be capable of sleeping 4 with a decent sized toilet and shower, I realized trailer sailers are too small / my expectations too high. That, and the hassle of stepping the mast and going down a slipway to launch it each time, not worth it for me... Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000
