Footwell repair panels
My left hand footwell has rusted through around the air con drain pipe. I’ve managed to hack it out to about a fist sized hole. Unfortunately the rust creeps up past the inner wing brackets but does not seem to have spread very far down. It has however eaten away at the ribs in the steel.
I want to make a repair that looks as close to original as possible but can only find these with the ribs:

Ideally, I only need a repair panel like this:

Plus the inner skin.

Does anyone do the outer skin with ribs (just the left side) and the inner skin, but with pre cut holes for air con?

Thanks

Thanks Dinnu👍

I’ve had a quick look at those links and none seem to quite fit the bill, especially needing the air con holes 2002 110 td5

Yes, I guess I was just hoping for an easy way to get them in the right place. There isn’t much left of mine to take a measurement from Laughing
I was also planning on just cutting out the bare minimum and trying to use only as much of the new panels as needed. Considering the bulkhead is 20 years old it really is on lovely condition apart from this little bit 2002 110 td5

I thought I’d give a bit of an update. I’m on the home straight of this job now after three days of pain. I’ve managed to do it without taking the wing off so I guess that’s a positive. I couldn’t wait for the ribbed panels so used yrm.

Thanks for all the help and offers of measuring up. Obligatory pics…

Great job Thumbs Up
Perhaps consider one of those mud shields to protect the footwell from stone chips, such as made by Gwyn Lewis. Or you can make yours, as the previous owner of my Defender made. They work great in protecting the footwell. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
